This course consists of 8 modules, following are all the modules and their learning objectives.

 

Module 1: Theory for Natural Nail Services

Learning Objective
To equip students with theoretical knowledge for performing Natural Nail Services including Manicure & Pedicure process, proper sanitization & disinfection, nail disease and treatment, nail anatomy, professional nail tools and its usage, nail shapes and polishing techniques.

 

Module 2: Natural Nail Services and Manicuring
Learning Objective
To equip students with practical skills for performing Natural Nail Services including the following techniques:
1.    Customized Nail Styles & Filing Techniques
2.    Manicure Setup & Procedures
3.    Various Varnishing Techniques
4.    Cuticle Care Technique

5.    Cuticle Care Technique
6.    French Manicure Service
7.    Foot Care & Pedicure Setup
8.    Gel Manicuring Technique
9.    Massaging Techniques

 

Module 3: Theory & Foundation for Nail Enhancement
Learning Objective
To equip students with theoretical knowledge and foundational practical skills for performing Nail Enhancement Services including the following techniques:
1.    Pre-enhancement preparation of Natural Nails
2.    Tip Fitting Technique
3.    Form Fitting Technique
4.    Enhancement Nails 
5.    Filling Technique

 

Module 4: Acrylic Nail Enhancement
Learning Objective
To equip students with practical skills for performing Nail Enhancement Services using the Acrylic System which covers the following techniques:
1.    Product chemistry and proper usage of Acrylic system
2.    Acrylic application Technique
3.    Single color and French Acrylic Tip Extension
4.    Single color and French Acrylic Sculpture Extension
5.    Color Glitter Acrylic Sculpture
6.    Infill and Remover for Acrylic Enhancement

 

Module 5: Gel Nail Enhancement
Learning Objective
To equip students with practical skills for performing Nail Enhancement Services using the Gel System which covers the following techniques:
1.    Product chemistry and proper usage of Gel system
2.    Gel application Technique

3.    Single color and French Gel Tip Extension
4.    Single color and French Gel Sculpture Extension
5.    Color Glitter Gel Sculpture
6.    Infill and Remover for Gel Enhancement

 

Module 6: Nail Arts Foundation
Learning Objective
To equip students with practical skills for performing basic Nail Art techniques which covers the following techniques:
5.    Free Hand Flat Art painting with Acrylic Paint
6.    Gel painting techniques
7.    Acrylic Emboss Nail Art
8.    3D Nail Art

 

Module 7: Applied Nail Arts
Learning Objective
To equip students with practical skills for performing practical salon style Nail Arts which covers the following techniques:
5.    Nail Art design and placement
6.    Mixed Media applied Nail Arts
7.    Bridal Nail Arts
8.    Design Sculpture

 

Module 8: Supplementary Techniques
Learning Objective
To equip students with supplementary skills to compliment the nail services which covers the following techniques:
1.    Salon Business Management
2.    SPA Treatment
3.    Electric Filling System
4.    Fabric Wrap Nail Repair

 

 

Entry Requirements

Minimum Age: 16

Interested applicants must possess ONE of the following entry requirements:

Completion of 3 GCE “N” Level subjects (Grade A*-D) or its equivalent, inclusive of a English/Chinese

 

OR,

 

Upon completion of the Certificate for Natural Nail Services with 2 years salon working experience and a minimum age of 25 years.

 

Applicants without formal education or above relevant work experience should have a minimum age of 30 and at least 8 years of working experience OR subjected to case-by-case basis to be assessed by the Academic Board.

Language Proficiency: English or Chinese at GCE N Level or equivalent

Assessments & Graduation

Assessment for this course comprises of in-class practical mock assessment and course assignments, which contributes a fraction of the total marks to determine the final result after the students sit for their Theory and Practical Examinations. Students will have to register for Theory and Practical Examinations. Diploma in Nail Techniques & Artistry certificate will be awarded base on the overall result after passing the Theory and Practical Examinations together with computation of results from their Mock Assessment and Course Assignments.

 

Course Awards

Upon meeting all Graduation Requirements, you will graduate with a Diploma in Nail Techniques & Artistry by PRINA Institute.

 

Graduation Requirements

Students will need to achieve a minimum attendance rate of 80% and achieve minimum of 80% in their total examination score computed with the following;

1.    Theory Examination (20%)
2.    Practical Examination (60%)
3.    Mock Assessments & Course Assignments (20%)
